your favorite parka: An old Woolrich woman's which is now
falling apart. It has a cotton shell
and lightweight wool lining
(fabrics not offered here), with
Thinsulate, and an insulated button-on
hood. It is also black, a color that
hides dirt. I like all those features,
but I most like the cargo/hand warmer
pockets at the waist and the 2-way
zipper, neither of which are very common
on women's parkas these days. I least
like the velcro on the storm flap
(it gets gummed up with scarves).
The other thing that it lacks is the
safety of reflectivity for being out
at night. That's why I picked a
*slightly* more visible but still
dirt hiding color, and reflectivity
as options.
